Where It Helps

Court Document Translation For Chats, Emails And Voice Notes

Most evidence today lives on a phone, not in a filing cabinet. These are the moments when evidence translated for court decides whether a message, a recording or a foreign letter can be relied on.

  • Child Arrangements And Divorce

Messages between parents often show contact plans, threats or promises. We set each one out in order so the judge can follow the exchange. Papers from abroad fit our translated divorce decrees for family proceedings route.

  • Criminal Defence And Prosecution

Phone downloads, chats and recorded calls may need English versions before trial. Overseas records of past offences go through our translated criminal record checks from abroad service.

  • Employment Disputes

Work chats, warnings and emails in another language often shape unfair dismissal or discrimination claims. Our professional translator network prepares certified English that the judge and the employer's lawyer can both rely on.

  • Immigration And Asylum Appeals

Letters, summons and news reports from home can support an appeal. We translate them in full, including stamps and handwritten notes, so the tribunal judge sees everything on the page.

  • Civil Claims And Money Disputes

Debt, contract and refund claims often hang on foreign invoices or account records. Our translated bank statements for financial disclosure keep every figure exactly as printed.

What You Get

Certified Translations For Court: Contents Of Each Evidence File

A judge must see who did the work and how to check it. Every certified court translation we send includes the parts below, in a layout that slips straight into a paginated bundle.

  1. 01Messages In Original OrderEach message keeps its sender, date and time, exactly as the phone showed them. Gaps in a thread are marked, never filled.
  2. 02Non-Text Content DescribedEmojis, photos, stickers and deleted messages appear in square brackets, such as [voice message, 0:42], so nothing seems hidden.
  3. 03Source And English Side By SideFor audio, the original-language transcript sits next to the English, with time marks to find any moment in the recording.
  4. 04Translator Declaration And StampThe certification page shows the translator's signed declaration and date, plus our stamp, phone and email, and a reference number the court can quote.
  5. 05Bundle-Friendly FilesYou get a searchable PDF. A Word copy for your solicitor's index and a posted paper copy are available on request.

Step By Step

Translating Evidence For Court: A Deadline-Led Order Route

Speed matters, but so does a clean record of what was done. Each stage in the translation of court evidence below leaves a trail that can be explained to the court if anyone asks.

You and your solicitor receive the signed PDF together. A posted paper copy follows if the court or bundle needs one.

Costs

Court Bundle Translation Costs With Fixed Written Quotes

Written evidence is priced per page, while audio depends on length and sound quality. Court paperwork translation always comes with one fixed figure first, so nobody is surprised once the bundle is filed.

  • Certified evidence translation

    £24.99 per page

The usual format for UK courts and tribunals

  • Sworn translation

    £39.99 per page

For proceedings that ask for a sworn declaration

  • Notarisation

    £69.99 per document

Added when a foreign court asks for a notary

What moves the final figure

  • Volume Of MessagesA short thread costs far less than months of chat. Send only the dates your solicitor has marked to keep the price down.
  • Recording Length And ClarityClear speech is quicker to transcribe. Background noise, overlapping voices or mixed languages take longer, and the quote reflects that.
  • Language And DialectCommon pairs cost less. Regional dialects or slang-heavy chats may need a specialist translator.
  • Filing DeadlineMost short sets are back within 24 hours. For a hearing tomorrow, same-day work can be arranged once it is agreed in writing before payment.

Fixed quote within one hour. You pay only after you accept it.

Languages

Court Translators UK-Wide For Dialects, Slang And Mixed Chats

Evidence often mixes English with a home language, slang and voice notes in dialect. Our foreign-language evidence translation covers more than 200 languages, and these eight appear most in court files we receive.

Why It Holds Up

Litigation Translation Built To Withstand Scrutiny

In a contested case, the other side will read your translation looking for weak points. Translation for court proceedings must therefore be complete, neutral and traceable, and the practices below make sure it is.

  • No Guessing

Unclear words are marked [inaudible] or [illegible]. An honest gap is safer in court than a guess the other side can attack.

  • Slang And Short Forms Explained

Text slang is translated by meaning. Where a word could mean two things, a short translator's note sets out both.

  • Private Handling

Family and criminal material is sensitive. Only the small team on your order (translator, second linguist and coordinator) can open it, and copies go only to addresses you name.

  • Neutral Wording

We translate what was said, not what helps either side. Tone, rude words and spelling mistakes are kept, so the record stays fair.

Quick Answers

Evidence Translation Service Questions On Bundles And Deadlines

When the filing date is close and the material is personal, the same worries keep coming up. If your evidence translation service question is not covered here, ask it in your upload note.

Ask a different question
Do I Need A Court Appointed Translator For Written Evidence?
Usually not. For written material, courts generally rely on a certified translation naming the translator and giving our contact details. If a judge orders a named translator, follow that order.
Can You Translate Only The Messages My Solicitor Highlighted?
Yes. Send the full thread and mark the dates or page numbers needed. The declaration states that the translation covers selected messages, so it is clear nothing was hidden.
My Chat Is Half In English. Do I Pay For The Whole Thing?
You pay for the parts that need translating. English lines stay untouched, with a note showing they were written in English, so the judge can tell the two apart.
Can You Work From A Phone Extraction Report Instead Of Screenshots?
Yes. Download reports from the police or an expert, often PDF or spreadsheet exports, can be translated in the same layout with message IDs and time stamps kept. Send a sample page first so we can quote accurately.
The Recording Is Two Hours Long. Must All Of It Be Transcribed?
Not always. If your solicitor relies on certain parts only, send the start and end times and we will quote for those minutes. The transcript notes which sections were covered.
Can You Also Translate The Foreign Judgment In The Same Bundle?
Yes. Formal orders and judgments go to our translators for foreign judgments and contracts, and we keep names and case references the same across both sets.
What About A Hospital Report Attached To The Evidence?
Medical notes from abroad often support injury or family cases. They are handled by our clinical report translators, who keep drug names and test values exactly as written.
