Three Directions

Translating Documents To English, From English And Between Other Pairs

Most orders bring a foreign record into English for a UK reader. Some go the other way, and a few skip English entirely. Whichever way the words travel, our multilingual certified translation uses two linguists.

  • → EN

    Into English For UK Use

The most common job. A marriage certificate, payslip or school record becomes a certified English copy for a visa, court or employer. See how a marriage certificate translation to English is laid out.

  • EN →

Out Of English For Offices Abroad

British papers sometimes need to be read overseas, for a wedding, a job or a residence permit. Many foreign offices want a sworn translator for papers going abroad, so tell us the destination country first.

  • ⇄

    Between Two Other Languages

A Polish record may be needed in German, or a Spanish one in French. We translate directly between two non-English languages where a suitable translator works in that pair, and the quote confirms it.

Harder Cases

Rare Language And Old Record Translation For UK Offices

Some files need more than a fluent reader. A village dialect, a faded register or an old alphabet takes patience and research. Here, translating a certificate to English takes longer, and the quote says so.

  • 1Rare And Minority LanguagesLanguages such as Tigrinya, Lingala or Sorani Kurdish have fewer professional translators. We find a qualified one before confirming your order, and the delivery date reflects their availability.
  • 2Dialects And Regional WordingMoroccan records mixing Arabic and French, Swiss Standard German (no ß) and Brazilian Portuguese all word official forms in their own way. Your translator reads the local terms correctly and still writes standard English a UK reader understands.
  • 3Old Scripts And CalendarsOlder records may use spellings or scripts that are no longer taught. Hijri, Shamsi and other calendar dates can be shown with the matching Western date, and we tell you honestly if a specialist is needed.
  • 4Handwritten EntriesChurch registers, margin notes and handwritten changes are translated word by word. Where a word truly cannot be read, the translation says so in brackets, so the reader knows nothing was invented.

Clear Pricing

Translation Prices UK: Fixed Per Page, Agreed First

Most languages, from French to Polish, start from the same certified rate. A few rare pairs such as Tigrinya need a specialist, so the quote may be a little higher. You see the figure first.

  • Certified translation from £24.99 per page for most languages
  • Sworn pages charged from £39.99 each
  • Notarisation from £69.99 per document, added to the translation
  • Apostille or legalisation from £129.99 per document, added

Not Sure Which Language Your Document Is In?

Language Questions

Language Pair, Script And Spelling Questions For Certified Translations

These are the doubts people raise about language itself, not price or post. If you need to translate bank statements to English for a lender, several answers apply. Anything else, just message us.

1My Language Is Not In Your Top Twelve. Do I Get The Same Service?
Yes. The same certification and checks apply to every language we accept. Some rare pairs have fewer translators, so the delivery date or price can differ slightly. Your quote shows both before you pay.
2Is My Document Translated By Someone Who Knows My Language Well?
Each file goes to a professional translator who works in that exact pair, usually a native speaker of one of the two languages. A second linguist then checks names, dates and figures against the original.
3My Certificate Mixes Two Languages, Such As Arabic And French. Who Translates It?
A linguist who reads both, so the page stays in one voice. Moroccan, Algerian and Lebanese records often mix the two, as do some Belgian and Swiss papers. A birth certificate translated into English this way still counts per page, not per language.
4How Do You Write Place Names From Another Alphabet?
Well-known places use their usual English form, so Москва becomes Moscow. Smaller towns are written in a standard transliteration, with the original kept in brackets where it helps the reader check. Tell us if an office already uses a set spelling.
5Will The English Follow British Or American Spelling?
British English is our default, so you will see licence, organisation and colour. If the translation is going to an American office, ask for US spelling and we will use it throughout.
6Can You Translate Medical Records From Spanish Or Another Language For A UK Doctor?
Yes. GP letters, hospital discharge notes and test results go to linguists used to medical terms. Our medical records translated for UK doctors start from the same per-page rate as a certificate; very dense reports can be priced slightly higher, and you see that before paying.
7Is Arabic Or Urdu Text Laid Out Right To Left In The English Version?
No. The English reads left to right as normal. Sections follow the sequence of the original, so a reader can still match each part even though the page direction flips.
