British Citizenship And Spouse Visas

The Home Office reads every note added to your record. Our marriage certificate translation with averbação notes shows divorces, name changes and remarriages in English, exactly where they sit on the Brazilian or Portuguese original.

PortuguêsBrazil And Portugal

Certidões, Sentenças And Extratos In Portuguese Document Translation

These are the Portuguese papers we see most, from both sides of the Atlantic. Local names are shown so you can spot yours. Every Brazilian or European certificate keeps that name beside its English meaning.

  • 01

    Certidão de nascimento

    Cartório Or Conservatória Birth Record

Brazilian cartórios and Portuguese conservatórias issue these in different layouts. We translate both, including registry numbers and any notes added later.

  • 02

    Certidão de casamento

    Marriage Record With Averbação

Often carries an averbação recording a divorce or name change. We translate the full record so the reader sees the whole story, not half of it.

  • 03

    Sentença

    Court Judgment

Custody, divorce and family rulings from Brazilian courts, plus the certidão de objeto e pé showing a case's status. Our certified translation of Brazilian court judgments keeps case numbers, the judge's name and every order clear.

  • 04

    Sentença de adoção

    Adoption Order

Adoption rulings name the child, the new parents and the court. A Brazilian adoption order translation can be certified or sworn, depending on who will read it.

  • 05

    Extrato bancário

    Brazilian Or Portuguese Bank Statement

Statements from Brazilian and Portuguese banks. We keep every date, amount and reference, so lenders and universities can follow the money with ease.

  • 06

    Histórico escolar

    University Grade Transcript

Lists subjects, hours and grades. We keep the original grading scale, so UK admissions teams can judge your results fairly against UK marks.

  • 07

    Habilitação de herdeiros

    Qualification Of Heirs

A Portuguese notary deed naming who inherits. Our heirs certificate translation for probate suits solicitors handling an estate or a house sale in Portugal.

  • 08

    Laudo psicológico

    Psychological Report

Brazilian clinical reports used by UK GPs and private clinics. We translate test names and findings carefully, keeping the clinician's wording rather than softening it.

PortuguêsWhere It's From

São Paulo, Porto And Luanda Formats Known To Our Portuguese Translator UK Team

Brazil and Portugal share a language but not their paperwork. Families trust our professional translation company UK with both styles. Angola, Mozambique and Cape Verde add their own layouts, and we handle those too.

  • 01

    Brazil

Brazilian records come from a cartório and often carry seals, stamps and digital check codes. We translate each one, so a UK officer can confirm the copy online if they want.

  • 02

    Portugal

Portuguese records use registo rather than registro, and many are issued online with an access code. We translate the code too, so the certificate can be checked.

  • 03

    Angola, Mozambique And Cape Verde

These countries follow their own local formats and older record styles. We translate them in the same certified layout, and flag anything that is handwritten or faded.

  • 04

    Names And Surnames

Portuguese names often hold several surnames, with the mother's usually before the father's. We copy every name in full and in the record's own order, adding a short note if your passport writes it differently.

PortuguêsInto Portuguese

English Into Portuguese For Staff, Consulates And Study Abroad

Now and then English papers need to travel the other way. A company, a consulate or a university may ask. Our English to Portuguese translation can follow Brazilian or European spelling, whichever your reader uses.

  • EN Português

  • EN Português

PortuguêsGood To Know

Portuguese Translation Doubts On Averbação, Particles And QR Codes

Here are the questions Portuguese speakers ask just before ordering. They cover notes, apostilles and country differences. If yours is missing, message us and a Portuguese specialist will answer quickly.

My Brazilian Marriage Certificate Has A Divorce Note Added Later. Is That Note Translated Too?
Yes. The averbação is part of the record, so we translate it in full and in the same place. The Home Office often reads that note closely for citizenship applications.
My Name Has A Particle Like Da Or Dos. Will It Stay In The English?
Yes. Particles such as da, de and dos are part of the legal name, so we keep them exactly where the record puts them. If your passport drops one, a short translator's note links the two forms.
Does It Matter If My Portuguese Document Is From Brazil Or Portugal?
Not for the price, but it helps us. Spelling and legal terms differ between the two, so we assign a translator who knows the country your document came from.
My Brazilian Certificate Is A Short Breve Relato Copy. Will A UK Office Take It?
We translate whichever version you hold. Some UK readers, such as HM Passport Office, may want the full inteiro teor copy with every note, so check with them before ordering. If you need the longer copy, the cartório can issue it.
Does My Portuguese Translation For A UK Visa Need To Be Notarised?
In most visa cases, no. For these files UKVI looks for a certified version: the translator confirms accuracy in writing and adds the date, a signature and our contact details. Add notarisation only when your letter or guidance asks for it.
My Portuguese Certificate Is Digital With A QR Code. Can You Translate It?
Yes. Upload the original PDF, not a printout or screenshot. We translate the certificate and the access or check code text, so the reader can verify it online.
My Brazilian Divorce Was Done At A Cartório, Not A Court. What Should I Send?
Send the escritura pública de divórcio and your marriage certificate showing the averbação. We translate both, so the reader sees the divorce deed and the registry note that records it. If a lawyer's declaration came with them, add that too.
